A new promotional video which dives in to the essence of Taranaki and honours mana whenua is set to play on loop at Puke Ariki to share the region’s stories with visitors.
The 13-minute-long video titled “Welcome to Ngāmotu, Taranaki”, shot by local agency Strategy Collective and Tania Niwa Photography, will be housed in the museum’s cinema space, which reopened to the public on Monday, December 11.
The project was initiated by Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki, in collaboration with Ngāti Te Whiti, NPDC’s Puke Ariki, Puke Ariki Trust and NP Partners, with the goal of creating a regionally specific and culturally authentic welcome for visitors.

The launch of the new video and the cinema experience is timed perfectly, with the region anticipating a bustling summer of visitation. This includes an influx of 8,000 international cruise passengers arriving on seven ships from December to March.
We hope you find time to experience it!
